4 days / 3 nights  departure from Ouarzazate

First Day :   Departure in the morning from Ouarzazate by 4x4 to the Toudra Gorges passing by the famous Oasis of Skoura where we will have the opportunity to enjoy a nice vista of different old fashion Kasbahs closed to the Skoura palm trees, after that we drive through the paved road to reach Kelaa M'gouna village so as to drive through the lovely track (road of thousand Kasbahs) which crosses the Roses Valley leading directly to the Dades Gorges. We have lunch in a nice Restaurant situated in front of the breath taking canyons. In the afternoon, we continue our trip to the Toudra Gorges where we spend the first night in a nice Hotel.

Second Day :  After having breakfast we enjoy a nice walk inside the Tinghir palm grove then we carry on our trip along the Tafilalte Valley until we reach the Village of Erfoud where we lunch. In the afternoon, we drive via a lovely truck (stony Desert) which leads directly to the Merzouga Dunes, right after we have a cup of tea in the Bivouac, then we enjoy a lovely camel ride for two hours so that to reach the highest Dunes of Erg Chebi (250m), where you have a wonderful opportunity to watch the sunset. We have dinner and spend the night in a Luxury bivouac (Nomadic tents).

 

Third Day :  Wake up early in the morning to discover the natural view of sunrise. After breakfast, we drive to Zagora passing by the villages of Tazarine, N´Qob where we lunch, in the afternoon we drive along the attractive Draa Valley until we reach the provincial town Zagora. Dinner and night in a nice Riad.

 

Merzouga

 

Fourth day :   Having breakfast in the morning, we drive to the famous little village Tamegroute in which we visit the Qoranic Library, the underground Kasbah in addition to the pottery factory. Having visited Tamgroute, we drive back to Ouarzazate along the Draa Valley, but this time, we will pass through the intriguing ancient caravan route till we arrive to one of the oldest Kasbahs (Tamnougalt) where we lunch and visit the old village. We reach Ouarzazate by the afternoon crossing the pass of Tizi-n-tinfifite (1660m).

 

 

Magic of the south

 

First day :  Departure the morning by 4WD from Ouarzazate to Agdez (where the Draa Valley starts), a short stop to have a rest, then driving through the off-road along the Draa Valley (ancient road of Caravans) to arrive to Zagora for having Lunch, in the afternoon we drive to M’hamid (the end of the paved road). We make a two-hour camel ride to enjoy an unforgettable sunset and to spend the beauty of the night in a nomad tent close to the dunes of Erg Lihoudi.

Second day :   We return to M´hamid on camel back, and have lunch there. In the afternoon, we leave by 4WD to the Erg Cheggaga dunes (300m) with 60km off-road crossing the huge Desert (Erg, Reg, Hammada, Oasis …). We have dinner and spend the night in a bivouac.

 

Third day :   After breakfast, we drive by 4WD across another 90 km of desert, enjoying the different sceneries : Iriqui Lake, Paris-Dakar off road, the mountains and fossils. We have lunch in Foum Zguid, the first village after the desert. Then we drive along paved roads via the village of Taznakht and arriving in the course of the afternoon to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou where we enjoy a nice visit and spend the night in a nice Riad closed to the old village.

 

NB : The Kasbah of ait ben haddou is a magnificent, earth-build fortified village became one of UNESCO’s world heritage sites in December 1987. Situated on the top of a hill some 40 km to the north-west-of Ouarzazate, it is so “photogenic” that it has been used as the background for some memorable scenes in many film masterpieces such as : “ Lawrence of Arabia", "Gladiator" ....

 

Fourth day :   Departure in the morning from the Kasbah of ait ben haddou by 4 WD to the Dades Gorges passing by the famous Oasis of Skoura where we can see a lot of ancient Kasbahs closed to palm trees. Then, we join Kelaa M’gouna so as to take the lovely track (road of 1000 Kasbahs) which starts from The valley of Roses and leads directly to the Dades Gorges where we have lunch in a nice restaurant. Then we take a small hike through the lovely canyons and along the Dades valley. In the afternoon, we drive back to Ouarzazate.
